is the e90 unstealable?

I heard it is almost impossible to steal it unless you tow it or flatbed it or it was a BMW inside job because the keyfob is impossible to duplicate unless you have someone on the inside in the factory in Germany. Thoughts? Any stats on thefts for e90 anywhere?

This has been covered before but yes, what you said is correct but it is not that difficult to steal it via a flatbed. It even might look more official than breaking in (to onlookers).

True, a flatbed can just grab the car and go.

However, correct me if I'm wrong, if you have BMW Assist, they can track the car as well.

Anything is stealable, with the right effort, enough time, planning, and monetary investment.

Some guy on the forums had his E92 stolen a month ago or something. I think he had the keys in the garage near and car and somebody broke in.

I routinely leave my FOB in an unlocked locker at the gym. Probably a bad idea but everyone there drives nicer cars than me anyway.

Nothing is unstealable.

BMW Assist can help locate it IF it's still working. But they just need to pull the battery cable or somehow block signal transmission and it's rendered useless.

Get different insurance then. If my car is stolen or totaled, I get a brand new 335i with the same options.

cars are pretty much like girlfriends.... just when you think no one can steal her, some prick will always find a way to surprise you and take her for a joy ride....

What kinda insurance do you have?? I'm pretty sure that only applies to the first year of ownership after you bought a brand new car.

if they remove your 'fin/antenna' then bmw assist will not be able to locate your car.

And the end result is the same too...

Some punk ass ends up getting shot or his ass kicked.

Its never wise to steal anything from a guy who owns NFA toys.

No one really steals a girlfriend. It's not an object. She cheated on you willingly if she lets someone "joyrides" her.

You're going to shoot someone for stealing from you? Get ready to go to prison! Or spend a lot of money on lawyer fee.

Both parts of that response are just about the lamest sh*t I've ever heard.

The girl probably only "cheated willingly" because she was duped by a vastly more intelligent being (man). So, in essence, that dude did steal her. I wouldn't shoot someone for stealing a whore of a girlfriend, though. I would shoot someone for stealing my car.

[Please limit flaming me for this to those who have a grasp of sarcasm.]
