Question Turbo or supercharger on 330i

I was wondering if we can put a turbo or supercharger on a 330i, since the 328/335 will have them and they have the same engine. Does anybody have this and if they do where did they purchase it.

The 335i does not have the same engine as the 325, 328 or 330i. The 335i has the N54 direct injection engine. Search the threads. There has been quite a bit of discussion about supercharger/turbochargers for the E90.

One thing to keep in mind, the N53 bi-turbo 335 engine uses (again) an alu block for increased strength.

So something to consider before blowing your gasket with KAS quadra turbo kit for the e90. It will probably be more cost than it's worth to increase the strength of the engine block etc. to accomodate the higher pressure of the turbo.

Yep. Unless you want to be the only kid on the block with a blown 330i, you'd be better off just trading in for an E90 335i. You might not come out even moneywise, but you'd probably be close and you're more likely to have a better performing car with fewer issues.

I also want to add a turbo or a supercharger to my car, but it may be really hard to find so I may get a NOS kit

NOS.... i dono but unless your really desperate to kill your engine i wouldnt reccomend that at all. There is boost coming for our e90's soon i would just wait for somethign like that, that may actually work without blowing the engine.

horsepowerfreak was working on a turbo, but whenever boost was applied it was nullified by the ECU.

Aftermarket superchargers will be available for the E90. Superchargers for previous 3-series models have sold for around $5K.

One more thing to consider. The 335i with its biturbo configuration is amazing in its ability to squeeze out this extra horsepower from 3-liters, via forced induction, yet still massaging 19-29 mpg ballpark. I'm fairly certain that anything we add to our 330i will drop our mpg significantly!

Whether it be BMW factory turbos, or aftermarket forced induction, gas mileage is always pretty good, UNLESS you drive aggressively, and it goes down very quickly and dramatically. Hell, I remember in my E36 you could go out for an aggressive evening drive and see the needle go down after a short while! FI cars have a much greater range of MPG than NA cars, from my experience.

definatly go supercharged, it will get you to the point to where you can burn m3's and it usually runs less pressure than turbos...which brings my point, why anything faster? i just want a car that is fast and anything as fast as an m3 (sub 5 seconds) is good enough. turboing is moving into blurry lines...because you may need to reinforce the engine etc. stick with supercharging, O yea and there is no lag as in a turbo, so you keep that linear acceleration...

Hey if you find a NOS kit that will work with our cars let me know. I am down for alittle juice. I am sick and tired of being beat by little WRX's... lol
