New BMW Owner

Hello out there BMW world.

I am completely new to this European car scene. I've previously owned only American cars, but since this economy is so screwed up, I've decided to go with European instead of JDM.

Anyway, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Chris and I'm from Union, NJ and I just purchased a 2009 328i sedan last night. I'm hoping you all could help me with any questions I have. Like I said, I am absolutely clueless.

Does anyone else find correlation between JDM, Euro, and the current economy?

I can understand not wanting to buy American beacause US auto companies are in the crapper, but where does JDM fit into the equation?
