Could be anything. Mine was a lean burn condition caused by a faulty seal on the intake side of the VANOS.

Just let it clear. That will happen on almost any car if you don't tighten the cap then drive it.

If you have a BT tool scan that shit. I think I want to get one just to find out if I'm throwing random codes. I rather keep it in tip top condition.

After you've tightened the cap, the computer needs to see a certain number of successful fuel system pressurization attempts within a certain period before it clears the light.

If the SES light clears after a day or so and doesn't come back on again, it was your fuel cap and I wouldn't bother with a service appointment (the code will remain stored for the next time you stop in for regular maintenance, so the dealer can confirm). If the light stays on or turns off but comes on again, get it checked because it could be anything, as Socom said. For me, I had an SES light for a stuck thermostat (which makes the system run rich because it thinks the engine isn't warming up properly). Others get them for failed emissions sensors. These are typically minor issues that have a minimal impact on the car's driveability. If it comes on in red or you go into limp mode, it's more serious.
