Xenon High beam part help

I need a Xenon highbeam light blub for a e92 328i. I looked on the Getbmwparts.com website, and there are multiple light bulbs, not sure which one it is : /.

Help regarding this will be greatly appreciated!

xenon high beam shares the same bulb with the xenon low beam. which is a D1S HID bulb.

wait are both your low beams working? the same bulb is used for low and high beam. its just a metal shield that moves up and down to switch the projector between low beam and high beam mode.

nope the low/high beam on one side isn't working, so I'm assuming its the bulb. there's a light on the dash that said lighting bulb failure. The thing is that I can't seem to find the part number, becasue I'm not sure what part it is

Yeah, thats the D1S xenon bulb then. See if you can get the dealer to cover it under warranty, since xenon bulbs are supposed to have super long lifespan.

If they're not going to cover it, the dealer is going to charge an arm and a leg for a xenon bulb (~$250 USD). You can get a used one on ebay or something for cheaper, or go aftermarket and change both bulbs out to whiter/bluer ones while you're at it.

Does trister sell it? I'm seriously considering just paying for it at the stealership (they said it'll cost $450, wtf)cause I tried installing the headlamp last week (got the headlamp/didn;t know the bulb defective) and I couldn't get get the bumper back on properly..arghh

tischer? they should sell it. part number is 63217162862 obtained from here http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...61&hg=63&fg=05.

not sure what the procedure is, but changing the bulb shouldnt require removing the bumper (maybe have to go in though wheel well though), so it shouldnt be too difficult to change it. $450 is insane...

sounds like you got a used headlamp from somewhere? you should try swapping the bulbs between the two sides to make sure its actually the bulb and not the ballast that's dead.

On my sedan there are 2 different high beams. If you push the stalk forward so it stays on it is the HID high beam. If you pull it back its a halogen high beam.

E92 has a cornering light instead of a halogen high beam.

Interesting. I thought it was odd that the e90 has both HID and halogen brights. I dont think ours work as cornering lights though.

The reason it is $450 dollars is because the dealership might be swapping out both of them like they are supposed to. This way in 2-3 years you wont have one purple headlight and one blue and xenon bulbs tend to color-shift after some time.

Its still way overpriced anyway from the dealer!!!!

wait are you referring to the flash-to-pass bulb (pulling on the stalk) or the actual high beams (pushing on the stalk)???
