O2 sensor DIY????

I was wondering how involved it would be a to install a new O2 sensor? Is this something that can be done on ramps in a garage or would it be best to have a shop perform this?

Thanks!

it can be done on ramps, just not always the easiest thing in the world. get a nice stubby 7/8 wrench to get the sensors in the tight spots like the first set on the down pipes

I am not sure which bank, I forgot which cylinders are misfiring, I will report back as soon as the trouble codes come back on....

Also I assume there are plugs and this is not some Splice Situation?

the factory ones have plugs, if you buy from bmw they will also have plugs, but you can buy bosche sensors from napa and you have to splice or swap the connector from the origional plug to the new one

Definetely not... The rear 02 sensors have to be in place and working correctly.

Hi Guys. I have my engine lights on for the the following sensors

Bank 1 Sensor 2
Bank 2 Sensor 2

What causes it to have them both showing error anyways? Is this normal? My car is under CPO warrenty in Canada and not sure if they are covered. Can anyone of you help me our? Thanks in advance

I believe anything vital to the running engine is covered under CPO.
