Is there any way to tell which BMW software version you have?

Just curious if there is a way to find out which BMW software version I am running? I know the newest version has a lag fix which might not make it necessary to run map 5 or 7 on JB3. If I have a BT scan tool, is there a way to find out what revision I have?

I don't know how you can tell your current software version. I just got my annual service done on my 335i and the dealer put in the "newest software" (according to them) to help with my complaints about the lag. According to them they put in "P2.33.2" which I guess means "33.2" to us. Previously it had some 30.x version.

My car is still adapting, but the lag is less than it was before. It's still there a little bit, but not nearly as bad. Maybe as the car continues to adapt it will get better. I'm currently beating the snot of it by flooring it as often as I can.

Amazingly, it took them 3 whole days to finish my car and get it programmed!

the dealer is your easiest way to see the SW version you have. they have to connect it to their computer.

key data contains software version

it no longer requires a connection to the dealers computers to determine to the current software version

stop by and have them read the key data (your key carries all your service related information *CBS data* and the current i-level *integration level*) and it takes just a few minutes to do .. they did mine for me..

it'll show the plant integration level -- what the car was programmed with from the factory
and it'll show the dealer integration level -- what the current software is on your car -- if its been updated --

if it shows only the plant integration, its never been in for a update of any kind..

man this question has been asked sooo many times:
as reported in above posts: UNLESS things have changed only the dealer can tell you.
