Possible to F up a drop in filter replacement?

Just installed my Macht Schnell drop in filter. Boy that thing is meaty! So meaty I had trouble squeezing the top of the box back on. I have all the clips secured, and I feel 99% sure that the material is in the grooves where it needs to be, but the lid looks just a bit uneven to me. However, my pride says the installation is foolproof. Any ideas?

Nothing is foolproof...fools are infinitely foolish.

Chances are good that your install is fine.

If youre really concerned...double check/re-install it.

Yes, you can F it up.
You have to make sure that the rubber piece fits in the groove.
If forced, you can crimp and screw up the rubber piece that wraps around the box.
Check to make sure.

I'm pretty sure it's on ok. NO it's not upside down. I did have to seat the front right corner into the upper groove before the lower groove if that makes sense. I have done a few "adaptation" runs at WOT without any CELs or limps. I'll recheck this week to see what the gasket looks like. Thank you all for the uh, words of, uh, encouragement.

Even the stock filter is a bit of a tight fit. Those clamps require "some" force to get back on.

This is good to know since I'm just about to order one for my car and I'll know to expect a snug fit during install. If anything, I'd be happy that its a reassuring/tighter fit rather than sitting in ther loosley. Sorry for Off-topic but has anyone with this drop-in noticed at least better throttle response or a slight change in sound? I know not to expect any HP increase but a little improvement in something would be worthy enough to purchase for me. Thanks,

~ Chris ~
