PYSpeed.com | *Feeler* Velocity Adjustable Throttle Booster System

We at PYSpeed are wondering the interests for the Velocity Adjustable Throttle Booster System for E9x owners. If enough people are interested, a group buy can happen. It has been the hottest products in Asia last couple months seen as thread followed. http://www.bmw-sg.com/forums/uuc-par...e-booster.html

Description as follow:
-------------------------
VELOCITY brings forward the sheer excitement of driving, by improving and optimizing the throttle response, enabling up to 30% of improved throttle response. Installation of Velocity is simply by ‘plug and play’ to the throttle pedal connection, without any modifications to the car. Upon installation, the unit is powered up by the ‘SPORT’ button. Velocity offers 4 modes of selection and users can vary the throttle response simply by selecting the “+” or “-” button on the control pedal.

Velocity utilizes proprietary, intelligent and self-learning feedback algorithm that monitors the car’s sensors and optimizing the injection mapping of the Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The unit then automatically calculates the fuel injection amount and timings required, according to the various power modes and altering the car’s response tremendously according to the desired selection.

Another unique feature (first of its kind) of Velocity is that it allows users to switch between “Original Profile” or “Sports Profile”. The unit has a built in function that allows users to switch off the sports profile if they want to drive the car in normal mode, or switch on if they want to have increased throttle response, simply by the touch of a button!

Technical Specs
- 4 power profiles selection (MIN, MEDIUM, MAX1, MAX2), adjustable according to different driving needs.
- Optimized throttle characteristics to enable immediate throttle response to the engine in real-time, resulting in faster response.
- Simple ‘plug-and-play’, with no modifications.
- Slim and compact design.
- Unit can be powered off during driving, and powered up as needed, anytime.
- Intelligent, self learning feedback algorithm to enable optimized driving throughout the power band.

I can see this helping on some cars with the steptronic. I noticed the '08 328i step I drove had better throttle response than my '06 325. I like the fact that is adjustable, so you can dial in how much gain you want in sensitivity. I may be interested, depending on the cost.

What is the US price - from what I am seeing for pricing translates to $500 US to sharpen up your throttle response!

I would be interested for a few hundred bucks, but after that it is easier to push the pedal harder in my book!

It's selling for $470 in Asia. If with enough interest, we will start a Group Buy soon on this.

I always tought my 335i needs sharper throttle response. But $470 is a bit much for no power gain. At this price I can get a JB3 and put out 80hp more. Make it $200-$250 and I will buy one (because for ~$250 I can get a JB+ and put out 40hp more )

yah throttle response is cool and all. But $470 is a big chunk towards an intercooler. $100 less than a JB or DPs. just so many other great things one can do to increase performance at that price.

Whoa. Hold on there. Want to go into more detail about this? How exactly are you "monitoring the cars sensors" and "optimizing the injection mapping" and timings?

Again, I'm not trying to be a jerk, but can you explain more? For instance what are "boost torque" units, and what is this unit changing/monitoring/etc other than throttle %?
