Unhappy Well, I got my Bavarian Technic scanner...two codes thrown

One for unplugging my vacuum actuator...duh.

The second...dreaded 2FBF.

What do I do? I am only getting long cranks. Nothing else other than this code thrown. Should I take it in? Will they replace HPFP or does it have to fail more?

I love this car, but damn this fuel pump crap is complete crap.

2FBF:
2FBF Fuel Pressure at Injection Release
Error will not cause a warning light
Error is currently present
Short circuit or signal interruption
EXPLANATION: Fuel pump pressure code
FIX: Normally requires fuel pump replacement

Probably should take it in - Remove all mods first!

I only have a JB+ on there right now. I just didn't know if they would replace the pump with just this code or if I actually had to have a CEL.

I had the 2FBF code and long starts, but car always ran great and never ever threw a visable code or limp and the pump failed tests when I had it in and it had to be replaced.

Are you having any long starts? You can always clear it if your not having any issues and see if it comes back or not.

I already had the long cranks, so I knew it was just a matter of time.

The wifes 335 has had long cranks 3 or 4 times since new (18,000 miles +-), still on orig. fuel pump. I wouldn't worry about it.

yup take it in, just be happy that it will be covered and not at your cost!

I loved my 335 and was lucky not to have any problems w the HPFP for 40k miles, lots of modding, lots of track duty, etc until it was totalled.

I feel for you guys w/ multiple HPFP repairs just for the time it takes, but be happy BMW is covering them over and over and over again!
