M Power Tour

Got the invite to the M Power Tour. What a great event. There is no caravan, instructor, etc. They just tell you to pick a car and go along the suggested route and come back. You go as fast as you want, and experiment as much as you want at your own risk. It included some FWY driving, industrial, and two lane divided road. Got to do some fun runs against a few of them :=). I will say that against my 335i on pump gas, the M3 is pretty darn close with my car having a passenger and 40lbs of luggage. (240lbs total). Really depends who gets the jump. I realize if you don't shift manually before red line, then you get a big hesitation as you can see in some of my videos I took. I would say in half the runs, the M3 driver went up against the rev limiter and the car just stopped accelerating. Whereas in the steptronic, at least it will shift automatically instead of just resting against the rev limiter. Most cars only had around 800 miles on them or so.

I picked an Alpine White Coupe. Nice car, very smooth. Great throttle response. Car is really smooth a ultra high speeds. :=)

My next ride will be the X5 M. I love it. Been waiting for that to come out since the first X5 4.6.

They came straight from Danville. 2 or 3 of the young gals got tickets on the way down to Southern California.

Wow. Maybe it was wise decision for me not going then haha. Oh well, its too late now. Still sounds like it was blast to drive those beautiful machines.

Hotrod where was this held? Was this in Newbury Park??? I know there is a BMW building in the industrial section. Is it still happening?
