Donuts and power steering

Does anyone know if the issue of power steering failure after doing donuts is limited to cars with active steering?

Has anyone without active steering experienced this problem?

PS - Just putting my flame suit on here. I don't drive like a maniac, but from time to time, when it's safe to do so, I do like to enjoy my supposed "sports sedan" without mechanical failure occuring.

Thanks.

I haven't even heard of such a thing. There is a huge, empty parking lot outside my building. Hmmm...

There was a guy that did some in a snowy parking lot a few months back. I think his PS booster cratered.
I don't know if it was an active car. I don't think many come with that option.

I dont think that the donuts would cause PS failure anyway. It was probably just a small problem that the donuts turned into a big problem. I wonder if the road side assistance people say anything when your car is sideways, in a circle of tire marks, and your shits crunked.

i'm gunna say i don't think it's possible to lose PS after doing doughnuts, i agreee w/ 'jaykay', probably an under-lying/pre-existing issue that may have been made worse or just a coincidence..

i still have power steering: (no active steering)

Hey dude, I don't have power steering, and in the winter, I went into a parking lot full of snow, and did donuts and drifted for about 10 minutes....after that, power steering pump failure......Had it replaced under warranty though.....(didn't tell em it was donut-related)

It totally ruins the feel of the car. Sis has it on her 530 and it's just boring to drive.
