AJ - Your Rack Sir!
AJ -- Question for you about the rack you purchased. I vaguely remember you said you got it for holding your boards, which is what I want for this winter
Did you get the OEM BMW rack, or Thule? And what did you purchase to hold the boards? Hoping the install/removal is very quick and simple - looks just like screws? I don't want to run with the rack on all the time, just for when I take my trips to the slopes. |

I've been snowboarding several times, and had a blast each time. This year I vowed to get my own gear and really get into it a bit more vs renting all the time. I used to be into skating back in the day. Sometimes I still can't believe my parents let me build a halfpipe in my backyard And of course the 1/4 pipe took up the driveway! But I don't plan on doing any half pipe on the board ... mainly just carving up the slopes. Do I smell a ski/boarding trip in the works for us this winter!? |

I have the OEM rack with snowboard attachments. It is one of the easiest installs and removals for a rack. There is just one bolt on each side of the support that screws down into the roof, but will not damage your paint at all.
Sam, if you would like, you can come see the rack in person to check it out... I would highly recommend it if your taking to the slopes (just like I did many times this past season)... |

Where did you source the rack from -- dealership or is there a cheaper online source? Thanks. |

Just a FYI, the bolts they use require a sepcific crewdriver (which is provided for you). So as far as safety is concerned, no one can steal the rack unless they had the specific tool to use. The snowboard attachment also has a key lock on it to secure whatever your transporting... I would be all about a day on the slopes... that is if you guys can keep up with me |

Seriously though, for those of us that ski/board or are interested in doing so, we should organize something for this winter. There are plenty of slopes close by that we can hit (and yes, they're mounds of ice but wadda ya gonna do, unless we wanna drive to Killington!). Now I gotta start planning for a set of winter tires and rims. Does this madness ever stop! |

We should orgainze a trip for later... For those that are experienced, seven springs might even be worth a few hours in the car... |

I'm definitely down for some boarding! Gotta get my new gear broken in. I bought $600 worth of equipment last year and wasn't able to use it.
