Can I mix synthetic oils?
I have some bottles of 5w-30 mobil synethtic sitting around for my other car. The reason I ask, is because I took my car in for the 2nd ever oil change 1 week ago and I'm leaving a small puddle of oil everywhere I go. When the oil was changed it was at the half mark, it's now at the 1/4 mark of the meter but still says OK. I'm just worried that it'll ask me to add a quart of oil to the car before Tuesday when I'm going to bring it in.

You won't hurt anything just using it to top off once or twice.
I wouldn't put in more than a quart, though. Only because it's 5W-30, not because it isn't the BMW junk. |
