I'm tempted to be a snob and have the only car in the garage in my building among far more expensive cars that is covered daily.

The only problem with car covers is that you need to clean the car before you put the cover on. Even the slightest amount of dirt can scratch the paint regardless of what kind of material is underneath.

I got one from BMW, managed to work some accessories in when i purchased the car, I like it because its a perfect fit on the car and on the bonnet there is a big BMW badge Made out of dust repellent material so that helps, sorry its such a bad pic

A car cover has its purposes, but there are a couple of things to consider. If you park in a public parking area, or in a building lot, you could draw unwanted attention to your car and make it an even bigger target for mischiveous types and vandals. Also, as others mentioned - it is very important to be sure the car is very clean before putting the cover on. This becomes a huge PITA for daily use.
Personally, if I were going to buy a cover I would go with OEM. It will fit much better than an aftermarket or generic, and though I haven't seen one, I'm sure BMW covers are high quality.

If the car is going to be outside them def suggest not going with OEM with the BMW logo on it and drawing more attention to it. With people stealing cars on the island I hope you are able to put it on the garage.

Zamboni,
This is way off the subject but, as a hockey buff and Zamboni driver myself, have you ever heard the song "I wanna Drive the Zamboni" by the Gear Daddies? It came out in the mid-90's and is a hidden track on their album. Awesome song. Also, if Yule hasn't bought the car cover, I'd be interested in a price also. |
