Lucky americans. In Europe we don't even have access to race gas.

And it would probably cost an arm and a leg

Damn fuel taxes

octane boosters

i know it's not race gas but do those octane boosters help or hurt the car.
i believe it helps towards off setting the ethanol issues w/ our gas.
but to be used w/ every fill up a good or bad thing.

Um, your standard gasoline is higher octane than ours.

Even though U.S. octane rating is labeled lower, it is actually lower too.

You don't even sell (RON+MON)/2) 87, we do
You don't even sell (RON+MON)/2) 89, we do
Your RON 95 is like our (RON+MON)/2 91
Your RON 98 is like our (RON+MON)/2 94
Your RON 100 is like our (RON+MON)/2 96
Your RON 102 is like our (RON+MON)/2 98
Your RON 105 is like our (RON+MON)/2 102

Practically every station in europe sells 98 or 100 RON.
Find me any area of the U.S. which sells 94-96 (RON+MON)/2.
And MANY areas in europe go over 100 RON, into the 105 RON range...

You have what is sold here as "race gas" at your average pump...

You pay 2x the price of gasoline in the U.S. and can get over 100 octane ((R+M) / 2) at pretty much any pump.

Here, our 87 ((R+M) / 2) costs half of your 95 (R).
In the U.S. if we wanted to buy 100 ((R+M) / 2), we'd pay 4x of what our 87 ((R+M) / 2) costs.
In europe you pay a marginal premium to go from 95 RON to over 102 or 105 RON.

So basically, you have race gas _everywhere_, and it costs half of what it does here.

That's the one I was thinking of too. I believe its a Sunoco gas station.
I also think the 76 station in Agoura off Chesboro (Dorothy Dr) sells 104.
Try Google "Race Gas in Southern California"

I don't know.. Im affraid of the Pump Race Fuel.. Im sure its been sitting there for a while, not good for my fuel pump (from experience)..
Maybe someone with a little more knowledge can jump in here and help me out.
Remember im talking about race gas out of the pump.. not all race gas in general.

i think you're talking about C16 which is a leaded fuel, IE: can not use on our cars

we can go up tp 109oct., which i believe this is the highest rated unleaded race fuel available..
