Remove spots from chrome around windows

After my car was in at the dealership to have the alarm installed it has some white spotting around all the window chrome... I tried cleaning while washing the car, but nothing I had seemed to take it off. Does anyone have any advice/experience removing these spots? I'm not entirely sure what caused it... I'm hoping its easily remedied!

Appreciate the help!

Try some paint cleaner or bug/tar remover. If that doesn't do it, then try some chrome polish.

Unfortunately these spots are just not coming off. I've probably tried 6 different things now.... I called the dealership (they're closed for the night) and left a message with the sales advisor and the service manager telling them I'd like to bring it in so they can take a look at it and either repair the trim or order and install replacement trim.

I'll update this post... in case this happens to anyone else. I'd love to know what they did to cause it, because it really looks to me like its never coming off the trim that's there... lucky whatever it is does not seem to be present or visible on the glass or painted surfaces....

I noticed these whitish little spots on the chrome around my windows tonight while washing my car. After drying I applied some Klasse AIO, buffed, and they were gone. Don't know what it was, and hope they don't return, but the Klasse removed them easily.

The BMW dealership was also unable to remove the spots today. They apologized profusely and ordered replacement trim for the exterior of the entire car. I guess next to it not happening at all I can't ask for much better...

They probably realized what it was and that they had put it there.

Its really nice that you didn't have to fuss around with them to get it replaced. Cool.
