oil filter change only????

anyone just does this between the dealer oil changes/.???

Had a talk with the bmw mechanic at my local dealer and he mentioned doing that since he has done it to most of the employees bmw

In the first 10K miles or so this is not such a bad idea since the oil has a lot of break in shaved metal. After 10K I wouldn't even worry about. The engine will be running just fine as the last owner of your car will drive the rustbucket into the junk yard.

I'd just rather do a full oil change in between intervals.

besides saving $40 in oil, what's the point of a "partial oil change"?
