XI V I
Interested in any thoughts on the XI versus the I with snow and bad weather most of the year in New England. Is the XI driving about the same without snow tires as the I is without snows? XI is overwhelmingly predominant in this area but I hear from performance buffs that the I gives better handling, speed and overall performance. I gotta figure, how many times is the XI TRULY needed if you have snows?
Substantial price differences between the two. Is it worth it? (Those who have never lived in cold climate do not count !!!) Thanks |

AWD does become useful when going to cars with high power and low-end tq. You can accelerate mid turn a lot sooner than with RWD. Something I find fun to go slingshotting through turns. But XI does not have sports suspension and ARS. So handling will not be as good. It's really up to you. Do you want a car that handles better, or one with an immense amount of traction in dry/wet/snow?
