Not when I have 18's with the r-comps mounted. TMPS malfunction warning goes on, but who cares. Not worth the extra expense since I check the tire pressures in between almost every run session anyway.
Although with rain during my last 2 track days, I've been using the stock 19" PS2s with TPMS as my "rain tires" and they work well enough to get some traction.

I did not use TPMS in 2009, about 10 track days, and not planning to use it this year either.
I have dedicated track wheels/tires. Change them at the track. |

I asked the same question a while back. I got them and am glad I did!

For the track, you may want to look into the TPMS emulation module from Macht Schnell, this will allow you to turn on/off TPMS monitoring at will.

I would definitely use TPMS on the track. You want to know when your tires are out when going at 100 mph+. GL. |

TPMS, I would probably add it to my track setup also when the time comes.

The only minor thing that I have seen with my TPMS on track wheels is that the light sometimes goes off 1st thing in the morning when I bring the cold pressure down to 26lbs. They system probably has a cutoff point around 26 where it thinks that you don't have sufficient pressure.
The light goes off after a couple of laps when the tires warm up and never comes back on for the remainder of the day. I think the only reason not to get TMPS is the cost, but for $200 I can't see why one would cut this corner. |

I have a spare OEM 18 set, so I'll probably switch those TPMS to the new rims. Probably best 'cos I'll want to DD with the track setup for a few days to break in the tires.
