Question CA Limit to 2 Key Fobs?

I ordered a 3rd key fob when I purchased my car. After several weeks (and fortunately a new SA who seems to know his job), I've been told that only 2 CA key fobs can operate as CA fobs. The third operates like a regular fob that must be plugged in to start. Can anyone confirm this ?

Thanks!

Jim

Garage List
2006 330i Sedan  [0.00]
2003 GSX-R 600  [0.00]
Would make sense, but I didnt know that this is the case.

Who is the third person? Do they drive that often with all hands busy?

Have looked through all I have, and only restriction I find is that the car can only have 3 keys programmed for it. No restriction for Comfort Access is mentioned

Did they actually get a key and programme it for you ?
If so, they may have ordered a non-CA key

Thanks e90 Fleet - that's all I found too. Third key programs and operates just fine except the CA feature. It looks exactly like my other two CA keys and has the same type of battery in it that a CA fob has.

Actually, more often that not someone here on E90Post knows more than the dealer --- such as E90Fleet.
