The day has come...
Welp, I was getting bored with the Range Rover Sport...I needed more sedan quickness...so the question Kim and I pondered was what next? At first we were set on the IS350 seeing as it was a new gen, we test drove it numerous times and I was set, only thing was, they didnt have what we wanted in stock and the wait was long and ambiguous you couldnt just go into a Lexus dealer to "order" a car. They would do a preference order as Lexus allows for open slots in the production line to allow dealers to put in their "I'd like to have this because a customer wants it..." During that time, Kim suggested that we should go look at the new E90's...so I figured what do you have to loose, we're waiting anyway and it's always good to keep an open mind when looking for cars in the same segment. I drove it (auto) and really like the feel of the car w/ sport package. Next thing you know we had a family friend that is the Gen Manager at Sterling BMW. We were taken care of and next thing you know, we put a deposit down and place an order on the car.
Fast Forward: 5/22/06 - our car was in production. It was born on 6/06/06 (spooky) and left the port of Bremerhaven Germany on 6/16/06. Arrived at Port Hueneme on 7/14/06 and next thing you know we got a call on Monday to pick it up. Picked this baby up on 7/18/06  So here it is, an 06 BMW 330i - Alpin White, Black Leather Interior w/ Silver Trim, sport package, Nav, Sat Radio, Park Distance, Rear sunshades, cold weather, comfort access. OH AND 6 SPEED!!! Uber rare because you have to order the dam thing, none of the dealers sells Manuals, just autos LAME  Enough talk, here are the picks. Rear Wheel Looking Down; nice and flush Playing around The E90 is a love or hate design, I personally didnt like it at first, but as I started looking at them more, I really started to like the design. The car's feel and balance is everything that everyone says a BMW drives like. Extremely balanced and pretty agile for the amount of horsepower it has (255hp). Rowing the gears and getting this puppy up past 4k it starts to sing in all the glory of an Inline Six. And what the heck, I've driven Audi, Volvo, (not Mercedes yet), so we figured why not try out this BMW. The first night, I slapped on a set of BBS LM's 19x8.5 (245/35/19) and 19x10 (275/30/19) Bridgestone S03's. The second night, I hardwired my V1 Radar Detector. Today, I installed BMW Accessories "Blackline" tailights (smoked up top and red on the bottom) Future mods: H&R Coilovers, Bodykit, little odds and ends inside the interior, exhaust. Anyway, more pics HERE Last edited by foofighter; 07-22-2006 at 09:24 PM.. |

Foofighter - very sweet ! Love the BBS LM's. And modding right out of the box. Sounds like you've got it seriously. Enjoy the ride. (Do your first track day, then see how crazy you can get !)

I have the same car except I did not get PDC and I got Preminum pack. Those LM's are the nicest wheels. The car looks great. Just get the OEM Spoiler and the OEM short shift knob and boot and you will be set. Juat curious how much for the LM'S with tires?

doh, i forgot i got premium as well. The LM's well, here's the story, i was cruising the e46fanatics site and found a used set for M3 fitment that's why i'm running wider than normal tires. The lips were custom polished so there's added maintenance of keeping them shiny. But i scored on these for 3500!

nice car! enjoy it in health. question btw what are you gonna do when you get a flat tire? i got my car exactly a year ago, so 2 months ago i changed my tires to kumhos w/c arent run flats, since e90s are not equipped with spare tires wat are you gonna do incase it does happen to you? and btw the guy i talked to at creative autowerks (e46fanatic) said that they dont usually use the fix-a-flats cause they can ruin your tires and will become irrepairable.

Red caps hit a snag...apparently the cap's bore hole is smaller on the BMW application LM's than they are for Porsche application. So the tabs (diameter) was slightly bigger in diameter. I'm sourcing red caps for this fitment.
Thanks for the compliments...i'm enjoying this ride more and more |

Nice car, like the blacklines too. What happened to the RRS? I'm sure the E90 will keep you captivated longer ;-)
