Latest handywork courtesy of my dealership techs.
so, for those of you that's not familiar with my saga, please read:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24868 after getting the car back tonight (with the handle still being stuck, had to wait till next week for the part to come in), this is what I found. a ever-widening gap between my driver's door panel and the window. Below are pics of the driver side and passenger side for comparison

I might be a bit dense
can you tell me what I'm looking for? I'm sure it's something that's not quite right from them disassembling your door panel, but it doesn't seem to photograph well |

on the passenger side, I can't stick my index finger between the window and the door panel, whereas on the driver side, I can stick my finger in and run it alongside the window

Hmmmm, interesting that you have posted that, i have also discovered a gap similar to yours on the driver side door for my 330. I am also in Toronto.

have your dealership opened up driver side door before? because my driver side was exactly like the passenger side, very tight, no gap. It's got the gap after the tech opened it up.

I think the poor monkeys would take offense to that. Dont give them that much credit.
Are they going to fix this?

Hey canucklion, this is easily fixable.
Just ask the techs to use brand new plastic holding clips the next time they re-install your door panels. These clips lose tension when repeatedly stressed from removing the panels more than a few times.

thanks for the suggestion, I thought something like that was the case, but wasn't sure the exact material used to fasten the panel.

that sucks I'd bring it back asap. At least they were considerate enough to make the gaps symmetrical (on both sides)

haha, nono, they only worked on teh driver's side door, the pictures above are shots of the driver door (opened up by tech) and the passenger door (factory condition), and two pictures of each, one w/ flash, one w/o flash.
thank god they didn't touch any other doors Quote:
