Just got back from 11,100 km road trip

Well I took my 2006 323i (6-speed manual, sport and premium packages) with my Girlfriend across Canada and into Quebec for vacation over the past month.

I clocked up 11,100 kilometers, had an average speed for the whole trip of 120.7 km/h, and averaged approximately 7.5 liters/100km for fuel economy with the trunk full of luggage. Had zero problems with the car and got one speeding ticket.

Very great trip. When I got back, and started driving the car around my home town hear in Calgary, I noticed that the engine feels even smoother and faster than before and the car seems to have improved fuel economy in the city.

I highly recommend to anyone to take their E90 on a nice long road trip. My 323i was a dream in everyway... great for over-taking other cars, amazing in the twisties, not hard on tires, good on gas. Very pleased!

Sounds like a great trip - your kms are basically almost 100% of my annual lease allotment

Of course we take my wife's car for vacations. At your average speed, you must have really floored it for long periods of time (given that you certainly had city driving mixed in as well). You're lucky to have had only one ticket.

Yeah, my lease is good, since I can do very low mileage. My car now has 5,100 kms and I got in October. At this rate I am going to drive less than the 12k I am allowed per year.

Of course to be able to do I have a house right in the City, so my mortgage is the inverse of my lease payments

Premium package on the 323i included: Glass Sunroof, heated seats, cruise control, and auto-dimming rear view mirror

Definately worth it!

Put that into perspective distance wise for those not geographically savvy in Canada.

That's about 1400 kms of very straight driving, except for the couple of hours of Ontario roads.

I got my 3 touring at the day before my holiday. We went on a trip to the south of France which is 1200 km's more or less. So I received the car with 3 km on it and two weeks later after my holiday I had already 5000 km on it. It drives much smoother now indeed.

I believe that shot was taken with a Canon PowerShot A70... it is 4 megapixel. At least one of these pics was taken with the 2 megapixel version of the same camera.

Oh yeah, did you notice that it was 36.0 degrees celcius in the shot of my guage cluster above?
