Safety for BMW ?

I smashed my front bumper on the driver's side and my driver airbag deployed, due to the impact. I would say this is pretty good and I am very satisfied with the BMW safety system on the E90.

When I got into my accident, I was going 35 and never hit the brakes while hitting another car. Nothing broken or injured. Just some burns on my arms from the bags. 3mo. now after the accidnet, and still no pains creaping up. The doctor says that he was surprised that most patients usually dislocate or fracture their collarbone from the seatbelt. Maybe it has to do with being younger, 24...but I'd have to say a great car. All safety features worked, bags deployed, seatbelt pre-tensioner's exploded, hazards came on automatically, battery terminal blown, BMW assist was contacted with my location, you can see the crumple zones, doors were able to open after...but the passenger one only half way though. It did it's job and served its duty.....poor thing. All in all, I'd say that Volvo has a competitor

uhh my friend's 330i hit a gutter or something... which ended up making one of the right side tires go off the road and into some unleveled area causing the car to roll into a ditch... car was totaled.. i mean it did roll like 5 times. outside was entirely f'd up... sides, top, bottom, front. inside was okay... he said that only his side airbags deployed but he got out of it w/ only scratches and bruises.

a friend of a friend of mine hit the center divider in the freeway going 120mph with his e46! the car was @#$%! it literally split in half at the engine bay. Miraculously every1 survived. they were all banged up pretty bad, but I'm glad they were able to walk away and talk about it. I will post pics of the car tomorrow. U gotta see it to believe it.

I am a firm believer now that BMW makes the safest cars around.

I was fully stopped, car rammed into my rear at about 35-40mph. My E90 barely moved a foot, and noone was hurt.

All 4 of em. The front passenger sustained the most injuries. All the bones in his ankles where shattered. Lucky for him, the surgeon in the ER that night was an ankle specialist. One of the rear passengers was thrown from the vehicle and woke up a few hundred feet from the car on the shoulder. The last passenger had to be freed by the jaws of life. But man they are all lucky they were in a BMW.

That's at the tow yard though, what did it look like before is what matters.

Well I agree, but the point is, this horrific sight is the result of negligence and a 120mph impact. No one should have survived, but they all did thanks to quality engineering and high saftey standards that BMW is known for. I still get chills everytime I see these photos and a very mad cause driving drunk is one thing, but driving drunk and going 120mph, that's just stupid.
