Rear Sunshade??

Is this option worth it??

Since I'm going to lease my 335i would it be stupid to get tints on the car??

Are they hard to take off?? Would I be penalized at the end of my lease?

Anyone who has this option, please tell me if your satisfied with it..

Here's how I'm opting my 335i so far...

Ti Silver or Jet Black (not 100% sure yet)
Black leather(100% sure)
I'm still debating the trim, this is a tough call!!! Any suggestions??
sport package
cold weather package
premium package
Steptronic
paddle shifters
Nav
comfort
Sirius
Rear Sunshade(still debating)
Considering going to Germany to buy the 19" 230 wheels... If I can, anyone
else who wants them, let me know and I'll ship them to you from Germany.

IMHO, either gray poplar or aluminum. I don't think you'd want to add a tone of brown to a car that's got only silver and black.

Hell yes, the rear sun shades are worth it. Besides, you just spec'd out a $50K car, what's another few hundred dollars for a very useful option?

I like the new Grey Poplar that they introduced... I think it will look great with the black interior.... I am going that route... and I ordered my 335i with the rear sunshade...

On a lease adding the shade must be nominal? no?

Ja, the Jalousie (shades) are great. I've had them on almost all of my BMWs. :rocks:

I have the sunshade on my ///M3 (...and I also ordered it on my E90), and it is one of my favorite options.

I'm not going to lie...I love my sun shades for a couple of reasons, one of them being if I get a moron tailing me, all I do is put my rear shade down for a couple of seconds then bring it back up. This works about 95% of the time. For the others who dont get the message, I do it again and that almost always works.

Down to dumb drivers!!

I have the sunshade and it doesn't do much for reducing light or heat. The money would be better spent on ceramic tints, IMO.

I have it for my M3, and while the concept is nice, I can't think of one time I have used it. Maybe some love it, but I would suggest using that money for a track day.

what do you mean nominal?? This is my first time leasing a car, I'm not sure

how leases really work, but I know you only pay on how the car depreciates

right??

I'd get quality non-metallic tints. Ceramics are nice but expensive, I got charcoal tints on mine for around $200 bucks. Tints are easily removed (shops charge you anywhere from $50-100 to remove)...

If you get it tinted I doubt you will be charged to leave them on since most drivers would want them anyway. Cost little to take off. I removed tint once and did all the windows except for the back which they only charged like $10 to do.

So I'd be better off not getting the sunshade option, and getting my car tinted?

If you want more shade than go with the tint. Yeah the power shade is cool but won't offer you the heat resistence or the ability to block more light than a good tint job. I just have tint and have no problems with headlights. All I see in the rearview mirror is the lights without having to get blinded. I can see where having both would be great since some states only allow so much % of tint applied to the windows and the shade would allow for a little darker than normal with the ability to open and close. If you had to choose between the two then I would choose the tint for shade and heat deflection.
