My car has gotten faster...
I dunno what happened. I thought break in period was like at 2,000 miles or something. My car clocked up 5k last night. This morning, when driving, if i stomped the gas, it really kicked in faster than it has ever. I think it just broke in or something. It feels so much faster today. Anybody else notice this at 5k?

VTEC just kicked in?
Seriously could be a combination of stuff including brand/batch of gas etc. I also think its the other way around, cooler air= more performance as colder air is more dense meaning more air into the intake by volume.

hey, I am in TX, too.... I have noticed the step's "automatic lag" has disappeared... for some reasons, it seems to be more responsive.. I just clocked 2000mi BTW.
FYI: I really took it easy before 1200 mi.

It's not just about horsepower, but how powerful your horses are.

Hey anyone hit 40k yet?? I remember when my m3 hit 40k for some reason it just felt faster?? Is it because it is truly broken in?? or what?

just as every has stated, the engine should be running smoother in cold weather because cold air has more oxygen molecules. the more air that gets in, the more "power" it should make. Its jsut like breathing in a hot and humid weather. Now stick your head into the freezer. should be easier to breath now
but as for the break in period, their has been alot of ppl that say their car felt totally different from any range of 3k-5k miles. im guessing everything finally settled in? |

yeah... hence COLD AIR INTAKE.
no one wants a HOT air intake... lol.. its weird! I had a 1/4 tank, but i'm a procastinator, i drive on empty sometimes.... shhh...... no, it was definitely faster and louder too. |

idk if this is relevant, but immediatley after I got my 19" put on, it felt like the ECU had not adjusted/compensated for the additional weight (increase in moment of inertia and rotational energy). It has been about a week, and everything feels much smoother and the car shifts smooth again. I got on her a while ago, and it felt faster as if more gas flowed into the engine. Just wanted to input my own experience - though I bet this is all psychological...but hey it was fun!
