Has anyone ever heard or used this product before? When I get back on campus in a few weeks, there will be limited access to a hose...therefore I need some help with the in-between details!

I've been using ONR and QEW for over 8 years now on mine and client cars (ONR in the past year, since it's new). I find they are both very effective and if you use them correctly will not marr even black paint; in fact I use ONR on my black G35 (which has almost stupid soft paint) and it works wonderfully.

What is the proper process in using ONR?

The way I use it is as follows:

1. put 1.5 capfuls of ONR in a 2 gallon bucket
2. fill the bucket with water
3. put a mitt in the bucket and wash one panel, same as any kind of washing; top to bottom
4. use a microfiber waffle weave towel to dry that panel
5. If the car is extremly dirty, use a new mitt and repeat.
6. If the car is only lightly dirty use the same mitt and repeat
7. Use a second mf/ww towel as the first gets soaked.

A couple tips/things to remember.

First, ONR produces almost no suds, dont be put off by that. It's very slick and thats whats important. Second, if the car is crazy dirty you can pre-soak with ONR and water in a spray bottle. One capful of ONR to 16oz of water, presoak the car and wait 5 min before washing.

That's it. The first few times will feel weird. It's like washing your car with really oily water; but after 2-3 times you'll be like "Ok this works great".

Do I have to use this out of the sun, use a chenille covered sponge / sheepskin mitt etc...

I would try not to do this in the sun, although it would likely be ok since you dry after each panel. I use sheepskin mitts (usually 3 or so when I use ONR); I've always used them and like them.
