Took my Car in for 1st dealer oil change
BMW of Riverside:
Today I took my car in for it's 1st free oil change(4th overall).....at 21,105 miles at BMW of Riverside. I also asked the SA to check my passenger airbag sensor for defect because my dealer suck donkey balls(Savage BMW of Ontario) said, "There was nothing wrong with it - just a computer glitch." What the SA found was that the sensor under the passenger seat was FRIED. He ordered a new sensor from Germany, and it will take 5-6 days to get here. He advised me not to drive it because of a safety issue, and offered me a Dodge Charger or Chrysler 300 as a loaner - I took the Chrysler. I'm glad I took my car to a different dealer to do my 1st oil change and had them look at the airbag sensor problem. BMW of Riverside I'm going to Vegas in style with the Chrysler 300(Touring Edition)......

Glad you got it right.
But I would have picked the charger to go to vegas. Much cooler than its sister the 300. Many of you may not agree, but the Charger (or a future 2-door version of this car) is the only competition to the 335 for my future purchase. I would get that 400+ Hemi SRT8, but the gas would kill me. So the 335 is in 1st place with the better gas mileage/more efficient engine and cooler gadgets/handling. But that SRT8 is nice looking! :rocks:

Sucks that you had to go to another dealer just to get some good service that you should get anywhere.

I hate to hear of our Bimmers having to go for service, but driving the heck out of a Charger or Chrysler 300 for a little while would be fun.

NatureBoy: I'm waiting for a passenger seat recognition sensor mat as well. I took my car in as the seat bottom was lumpy. The first time I took the car in, they said they had to order the part from Germany. The 2nd time I took the car in, they said the part they thought they had, had not arrived afterall. There was a hold on shipment of the part as BMW has redesigned the part and they are awaiting that new part. Well, that's what my SA said, anyways. I am waiting for his call, he mentioned in 2 weeks...
When I took the car in the first time, he had the service manager take a look at it and I overheard them saying "we got another one..." Anyone else have this or related problem?

Savage BMW.... is that the same place where some technician took a customer's M3 out for a joyride and wrecked it? I seem to remember reading that incident on some BMW forums... -hkj |

Hey Natureboy, THAT's the exact thread I read before. Thanks for looking it up. And being caught writing reviews of themselves?
BTW I took my car to BMW Mountain View for its first oil change about a month ago. It was quite a pleasant experience. Brought my car in at 830, got a loaner E90 325i, car is ready to pick up by 2:30. Can't complain. -hkj |
