This feature has been around for a while. Had it in my '00 328Ci. Should come in handy tomorrow with prediction of 99 degrees here on the East Coast.

The only criticism that I have of the feature is that even if you hold the button, everything stops as soon as you open the door. Typically, I press and hold the button once I am in range to open the windows. As I am approaching the door car the windows are usually already down, but as I open the door I realize that the sunroof is only halfway open.

I wish it would just complete the process once it starts. I can understand the car not automatically rolling the windows up (safety concerns), but who is going to get hurt by rolling the windows down and opening the sunroof?

They do, just press on the handle longer when locking. Mirrors swing back also.

Another reason my next car has to have comfort access (it wasn't available for my July 2005 build car).

I knew about the windows rolling down, but I didn't know that the sunroof would start to open if you held it down after the windows were down. I was driving down the road and heard a little bit of wind noise coming from somewhere. I finally realized the sunroof was cracked open a little. Could have been a mess if I hadn't caught it and it started to rain!

Yeah, this feature has been around a while, I have it on my 99 E46. I used it for the first 1 or 2 years but when my window regulators started breaking after the first couple years I stopped using this feature, too afraid that if used it one would break at the "wrong" time. I can't tell you how many window regulators I have gone through and they always break at the wrong time.

I now realize that this alone (window windup and closing mirrors) should have been reason enough to get comfort access.

It really should wind up windows and fold mirrors by holding hte locking button, but oh well...

Opens the sunroof as well.
I had that feature on my e46. Cant remember if it was on my e36.
Yes, it does let the excess heat out very quickly.

Now without bragging and causing anyone to get upset, my lock button on the remote will close the windows and roof as well. We get that feature here. I also had that on my e46.

this only works on comfort access right? i thought holding the lock button would trigger a panic alarm.

The handle approach is obviously CA only... Holding the lock button down does nothing different than just pressing it. Pressing it twice (if you have the alarm) will set the alarm off...

Notice I said "handle" and not "button." So yes, CA only.
