How to remove water spots?

What is the best way to get off all those nasty stubborn water spots from my jet black paint? This topic has been here before and I did search but was not able to find a really good way. Or maybe I'm just too lazy to read all the topics. Anyway, do I need to use clay bar or is there any better way to get the surface look good?

Have you waxed it already? That should do the trick, but if you already tried that then try clay bar.

I have heard about this vinegar thing. How should I use it? Is it really safe? I mean it is acid. Very mild of course.

Nikki, yes I thought that they would come off with wax and I was a bit surprised when they didn't.

Did you use a QD before you waxed it? I used Zaino Z6 before I wax it to get rid of the water spots I missed before applying the sealant.

I have a stupid question. What is a clay bar? What does it do. I go to the U.S. often, and where can I get some. I've noticed on my new Arctic 320D, that the paint finish is not as smooth as it should be. After removing the wax, I notice a very thin film (sort of) on the paint finish. I use NXT wax.

It's clay you use to clean oversprays, impurities such as rail dust, etc. embedded in your car's paint with. After you claybar your car, it feels smooth as new glass.

I get all my clay from online sources. Not sure if they deliver outside the US.

Cool, I'm going to be in the States next month, do you know if they sell this at wall-mart, target, or any autopart store? Do you rub this "clay bar" all over the car?

Klasse All-in-one, Jeffs Werkstatt Prime Strong, or any other chemical cleaner will remove water spots, whether they're deposits or etched.

You should be able to find it at a major auto parts store. I know that Advance Auto and Pep Boys both have the Mothers and Meguiars kits. The Meguiars is nice because it comes with a Microfiber towel for about the same price.

I used Mother's Quik Detailer. I think any QD would work. The key was using a MicroFiber towel.

I had spat on my car and rubbed it, and that worked, so I figured a MF towel and a QD would do the same thing and they did. Obviously, try it in an inconspicuous spot at first.

I had more trouble with the windows. That took a LOT more elbow grease and windshield wiper fluid with a regular towel. The spots aren't completely gone, but they're barely noticable any more.

Mix white vinegar with water 50:50. Pour 1-2 drops and wipe lightly with a microfiber. Do it a couple of times if the spot persists. If still persists, you need to use an abrasive like Poorboys SSR. Start with the least abrasive first.

Don't forget to seal and wax afterwards.

I have a spray bottle and mist on the 50:50 vinegar:water mix and for stubborn stains I let it sit for a bit - them MF off. It may take a couple of attempts. I find usually a whole panel has them and the mister covers a lot of area or you can localize it to just the affected area too with a directed spritz.

As previously mentioned, this will remove your sealant/wax so you need to reapply your LSP.

You guys really should invest a couple bucks in a chemical cleaner.
