aluminum trim owners...please confirm

From day one, my alum trim have these lines that run all the way across...I can actually feel the lines if I rub my fingers across, But some areas...is smooth as silk ???
so is Alum Trim suppose to have these lines running across or should be nice and smooth like ...lets say wood ???

I'm really concern cuz I payed $38k for the car, i want things the right way

Sidenote...I didn't scratch the trim to have those Lines there.

thx!

What "lines" are you talking about? Mine's as smooth as a baby's butt. Post a pic if it shows up.

the finish is supposed to be "Brushed aluminum", is all your talking about is the very very light pattern that goes from left to right or right to left, if so thats the brushed part of it

yeah its normal, it should look like a small pattern of scratches, mine are all horizontal almost like a woodgrain is, the pattern should be only noticable up close and a lil darker grey or silver than the whole color, i dont think you should have vertical lines and u really shouldnt notice a difference when u touch it, it should be smooth, thats brushed aluminum for ya!

EDIT: from what i see in the pic, the quality isnt that great but thats totally normal

I'm very curious about what your talking about. Maybe a another (better) pic might help. More focused. Maybe try leaning the camera on something like the seat back just for more stability. or maybe if your camera has a macro option.

In German the option is called "Langsgeschliffen" meaning something like "horizontally brushed"

Yeah they are there. It is brushed. I think the M5 has a non-brushed version that looks a lot different.
