Got caught turning right on red light?

As I was turning right from Burnette Avenue onto Braid street during a yellow/red light moment, I saw two flashes (from the intersection camera) so I thought I was pretty much screwed. According to ICBC website, a red light camera ticket costs $167.. I never thought they actually catch people turning right with those cameras.

Honestly I don't think I did anything wrong. I entered the intersection on a yellow light. I was turning slow, so the light turned red while I was still in the intersection. So does anyone know about the camera there? Is it difficult to dispute something like this, and what are my chances?

Happens to me too, when I turn right from N bound Knight St. to E bound 33rd Ave. I've seen flashes but I've never received any tickets.

Most of the cams aren't loaded with film. I've been flashed on Granville and w33rd like 3 times in 3 months and I haven't received a ticket.

there are LOTS of these cameras in Chicago. I've got one ticket when they first came out (about 2 years ago). Here, they mail you the ticket with 3 pictures, one before your car enters the intersection (wide enough view to see the red light), second with your car in the intersection with the red light and third is a zoom up of your plate.

I've had many close calls since, even when being careful at lights I know have cameras but never got another ticket even though I've had pix snapped a couple of times.

Now, from what I understand, someone reviews every picture and all three must come out good for them to send it out. So if they have a yellow light before you hit the intersection or any picture is obscured you do not get a ticket.

Technically, you're supposed to stop at a yellow light, as if it were a red light.

Forgot to add, I don't think you can get a ticket when taking a left or right turn. I think the cam thinks you've ran a red light but in reality you're turning.

Yeah, BC rocks! I believe in QC it's illegal, how about in ON? It's illegal in most of Europe too, but I think it's stupid, as it holds back traffic that coudl easily keep moving in a right turn only lane at a red light.

were you making a right turn by any chance?? To be honest, I'm still worried. In fact, I no longer want to check my mail, and I have a phobia against that particular intersection now.
