Playing around with the headlight settings

For the fun of it, while in the automatic setting I turned on the foglights during the day. The fogs came on, the DRL dimmed to a light blue, the orange parking lights came on, and both sets of angel eyes lit up. It looks really cool with this setting. Anybody else tried this?

omg is this for real... when your lights are in auto, and you press the fog switch your headlights come on with your fogs.... very simple. the DRLs dont dim to blue, thats the Xenon low beams.

That's how I turn my lights on when it's raining but not dark enough to activate the headlights...worked like this in my X5 also...

Sorry, the DRLs don't dim to blue. What I meant to say is that it switches to the xenons in a low intesity blue...

Oh who cares...what matters is that is looks really cool!

This is how I drive 90% of the time, day and night, because you're right, I think it looks cool (auto lights with fog lamps on).

In most states driving with your fogs on is illegal unless there is fog/haze out. I live in one of those states. Of course not sure if the 51st state (Canada) has such laws, or if it applies out of the US at all.

As many have stated, its not your DRL's... those are your xenon low beams turning on...

If you have your foglights on, some other lights should come on too. Thats why your angel eyes and xenons turn on as well... You can turn on your parking lights (angel eyes) and your fogs too...

drl's dimming... thats a new one... I never thought that the high intesity lights would 'dim' when they turn on fromt he off position

I have never heard of anybody being ticketed for having fogs on during a non-foggy day, despite the fact that it is considered illicit.

I was cited for it years ago All it takes is being in the wrong place at the wrong time with the right cop staring your car down..

Just like the front plate law which is a federal law, and not a state law. The Feds say that if your state borders a foreign country you must have front and rear license plates.

Can you turn on Angel Eyes ONLY? (Without parking lights) I don't think so without some kind of tinkering... unless someone knows a trick?...

Are fog lights supposed to stay on when you turn on your high beams?

How can this be true when I live in Arizona (which borders Mexico) and the State law here is ONE rear license plate...the front is optional and you have to pay for it.
