can i run 245/40-18 all around on XI
I am buying some 18x9 inch wheels and want to run 245/40-18 at all 4 corners of my 335xi. I have H&R coilovers with the car lowered. Anyone know if this wide of a tire will work?
Thanks, Gumpy. |

I have this setup with stock suspension and it works great - improvement over stock in both performance and comfort. The bigger wheels fill the arches much better as well. Not sure if your lowered suspension can cause any rubbing...

Thanks for the info. Gives me a little peace of mind until my new wheels and tires get here!
The H&R's are awesome and I don't think it will rub. It did not rub with stock tires with 3 people in the car over some rough roads. Looking forward to see how she handles with a significantly larger contact patch! Take care. Gumpy. |

What are the offsets of the 18x9's? We can narrow it down the fitment clearance some more if you can post them.

I am running 245/35 19's at all 4 corners and I also have H&R coilovers. You will have no problems.

I do not mean to hijack your thread. I just thought this might be a better place to post my question rather than creating a new topic.
I have a 328xi with no spot package. I am in the market for some new wheels and came apon a seller on e90. He is selling a set of OEM style 162 rims that have the runflat bridgestone potenza tires. Now his tire setup is: 225/40R18-Front 255/35R18- Rear Am I safe to put this staggered setup wheels on my xi? I used the tire calculator and I got a difference of 0.236% (speedometer reading will be .2% too fast) Also, do I risk the wheels rubbing with my fender using this setup? Thanks |

I'm running 245/35/19, ET30. Not lowered. Front doesn't rub, not sure what the range of ET is for it to stay that way. Btw, how do you like the coilovers? Does it make any squeaky sounds when you go over bumps? |

H&R coilovers are awesome. No noise whatsoever. Here is a link to a post of mine describing the coilovers.

Got another question regarding the setup I was talking about above.
I am planning on buying the set used. This set was used on an RWD car. I guess with the RWD, the rear tires will wear down faster than the fronts. Now for AWD, we have to be careful with the diameter. Putting the tire size info in the tire calculator gave me a 0.2% difference which is clear for the AWD. But what happens when we buy a used set? does the "rolling" diameter change significantly to the point where I can not put these wheels on my car? Thanks |
