TE37 Track Setup Mounted

I mounted the TE37s I purchased last month to check for fit. The specs are:

18x9.5 ET28: 265/35 BFG
18x10.5 ET30: 285/30 BFG

Suspension is stock for the time being. (I don't want coilovers on this car--at least not yet.)

I might run spacers in the back, but haven't decided what size...

Here are some pics, including the stock 19" wheels with PSCs on for comparison.

Looking great lucid! You can never go wrong with TEs!

Can you get a detailed shot of that stick on the spoke? I've never seen it before.

The sticker says "TC Kline Racing". I bought the wheels used from TC Kline. I think he had the wheels custom made as a large order with Rays.

Looks good. I was wondering two things: Did you measure the front and rear track? I would like to sompare it to the stock track measurements. Second, does the rear feel loose? It looks like you could use spacers in the back, as you suggested. The track actually "looks" narrower than the front.

April is the month!

I'm still considering your quote on the Advans for street wheels btw...That or the RAC project, if it happens...

I didn't measure the track width. Track width, as measured by the distance between the center of the tires on the same axle, should not change much with the front setup since the offset is only 1 mm off from stock. The rears are about 7 mm off though, so that would translate to a track reduction of 14 mm. I don't think that is significant enough to make the rear feel loose, but I haven't driven the car hard with this setup yet. The stock track is 60.5" front and rear.

Nice track setup. Strange but to me they look smaller than the stock 18s for some reason.

Rear wheels weigh 44.5lbs, fronts 43lbs.

I know you use the same tires on the track. What hot pressures were you running last year?

You are correct. The tires have a smaller diameter. Stock 18" PS2 are 25.7" F/26.3" R. These are 25" F&R. You are limited by the sizes BFGs come in.

37 to 43 hot per BFG tech info.

great read thanks for posting since I'm about to pull the trigger on a set for some stock 18's I just picked up for track use...

I'm thinking about running basically same set up lucid 9.5F 10.5R what do you think? & where can I get a set for the best price?

Not sure what you mean Monsta. Do you want an identical set of TE37s? If so, TCKline might have new ones in stock, but you are looking at $750 a piece; it seems like they sold the used ones they wanted to get rid of. Otherwise, it might be hard to find these in stock in 18".

If you are looking for alternatives, I would seriously consider Advan RS, but I don't know that you'll have 18" sets in stock.

Sorry maybe I wasn't clear enough...I just got a set of OEM 18's for track use in the meantime, I'm just starting to get into trackdays (w/ car) don't want to jump head first into a $3k+ set of wheels just yet, but did order some RS19's from Rennspec & will upgrade brakefluid....I did speak to TCKline couple weeks ago regarding the TE37's they told me to give a call back in a couple weeks they might have some available...

my question was regarding the BFG R1's....what size should I go F&R and where is the best place to buy from....

hopefully I'm clearer now...

Sizing might be an issue. You might need to go 245/40 and 275/35, but that might be too wide for the 9.5" rear wheels although tirerack give a range of 9" to 11" for that tire. See sizes here:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...irePageLocQty=

I bought mine from tirerack. They had the best prices I could find, and great service.

Did the stock rims come with PS2s? If so, considering you are a beginner, you might just want to stick to those for the time being.
