Got Dinan stage 2 flash today!

Loving it. Glad I got my dealer to retro-fit a factory oil cooler for free cuz' the stage 2 requires it. Car is really stong now pulls like mad. Highly recommend!

I'm not al all intersted in drag racing. Not a fan, never will be. I can see why some would like it for sure, so, to each his own!

I'm a road racer and canyonblaster!
I will be tracking the car here (as well as my 911). Come on out!

I was a road racer too until I got a ticket for racing and doing 108 in a 45 a couple months ago. I almost lost my license and went to jail so now I am trying to resist. I still love the twisting mountain roads though. I cant wait till the spring drive and schools. Those are always a blast!

Road racing = racing on a road course like High Plains Raceway.

It's the opposite of street racing.

Canyonracer - what groups do you run with? I teach with NASA and run with PCA now and then - that is when they let us BMW guys in.

First PCA event at HPR is April 26. I'm signed up. I am very bummed that BMW club doesn't have ANY dates at HPR all year!? I spoke with Andrew Jordan (chief driving inst) and he explained why (long story).

NASA has a few events, as does multi car club, and I intend to track the 3 then.

See you guys there!

I'll be at HPR for the first NASA event (April 18-19).

Will you be there CanyonBlaster? You should bring your 335. I presume if you're a road racer, you'll be running in Group4 / Time Trials. It'd be great to see how your 335 with Dinan does.

Group 4 / TT is open passing, so should be a blast.

I presume PCA won't allow us lesser marques into their events?

Hey 355TA,

I remember meeting you @ burger night. Your car is sweet.
I do want to run with NASA!!! however I will be closing Vail that first event weekend so I'll mis it (we have a condo up there).

What do I need to do to join NASA?

Yeah, I am adv/int track driver (years of Audi and of PCA track events, completed open wheel school at Sonoma-Sears Point, spent three days driving the Nurburgring, etc..). I certainly still working on it! LOL.

As far as PCA, correct, porsche only.

*** I was so bummed when Andrew Jordan of BMW confirmed no HPR for them this year!!?? WTF....

Yeah, no HPR for BMW Club. But that's ok, NASA has two events there, I believe and AMR PCA has at least one. Apparently PCA will allow lesser marques to join if they don't fill up the events.

I can't wait to be on track with them. They were utterly confused last time when the guys in 997 C2S were seeing a stinkin 335i up their butts.

To join NASA, go to www.nasarockymountain.com and you'll find all you need. I would recommend signing up for HPDE3 based on your experience. They won't let you in Group 4 without taking the traffic test, which consists of you doing a few laps at speed....with four instructor cars (front/rear/left/right) circling you and rotating around you! It's quite unnerving, but kinda fun at the same time.

Canyonblaster,

Now that you've had it for bit can you please elaborate on the good and bad in which you have noticed with the dinan stage2? I was up at my dealer this afternoon picking up some touch up paint and they were trying to sell it to me. So I am just curious on how well it works?

Also, how bad did it affect your fuel mileage?

thansk

Why don't you all sign up for the Nasa event that weekend? Much safer with ambulance, officials, course workers, etc.

I will instructing both days and running my Procede equipped car.

Getting some formal instruction would be great....I think I am a good driver, but never had any formal training. I have just driven in Europe a lot and pushed some fast cars around, but it would be great to see what I am doing wrong. What is the procedure to sign up and how much?

Just go to www.nasarockymountain.com and sign up for their HPR event. Then PM me.

I presume you're relatively stock in terms of suspension/tires/LSD. I have run a few events with a perfectly stock 335i so I know how the car responds to driver input when in stock form. If you would like, I can be your instructor - of course if you'd like, you can have someone else teach you too.

Then you can ride in my car. LSD/Tune/coilovers/race tires/camber plates.

Tracking is a completely different animal. A very fun one, tho.

I also have the Stage II however, I watch the MPG ...... MPG suffers more in city driving. Dropped from an average of 22-24 to 17-19.

Highway MPG improved from 28 up to 31. I count that much improvement due to the DCI. I had an intake installed prior to the Dinan upgrade so not sure what stock numbers might have been.
