My first Zaino-age

Hi Everyone...did it more or less as follows...

Washed with Mr Clean Auto soap. Washed with Palmolive dishwashing soap. Clayed the essentials using Mother's QD (I bought new clay from them and that's what came in the box).

Mixed my ZFX with Z2, did a coat. Did the Z6. Did a Z5.

Next morning. Did the Z2. Z6.

Monday morning, Z6, then Z8. I'm very happy with the ease of application and all. I bought extra wax applicators and used as many as I needed (kept finding dirt under the car or in the seals). I used little white hand towels I bought at Canadian Tire (non-US) to wipe off the haze. No problems at all.

The cream in the 325xi badge pissed me off so much I debadged with a hair dryer, dental floss, and Goo Gone as well. Looks nice!!

Loved it so much I washed and clayed the X5 then waxed it with the little bottle of Mother's Carnuba that came with the clay in the box.

My arm is sore but my cars look great!

Thi is the first time I've had the courage to undertake this on ANY car I've ever owned but it was easier than I thought and more satisfying!

BTW I'm at 23,000 miles, the front bumper and lamps are irrevocably scratched, but that's okay, it's a road warrior, not a show car!

I needed a long weekend like our July 1st Canada weekend, plus a great weather forecast, which we had.

Thanks for the compliments!

Metaphysically I feel a closer bond with my car now, as stupid as that sounds!

It's like, "I have Zaino'ed you, that means you're staying for at least another year!"....who would trade in or sell a car they had just Zaino'ed?????

i like that attitude. i feel the exact same way because no matter what you do you wil never keep a car mint unless you go crazy with it. i saw some guy on this forum actually taped up the front end so it wouldnt get scratches

That's funny!

You can only do so much...if I had the money I'd own a "weekend car" or two, but for now I'm happy with two (no duct tape on the fenders!)!

Certifiable.
