Popped my Zaino cherry... pics

I found about Shim's DC Zaino thread literally the day after I ordered the Zaino kit. I could've saved 6 hours of my Saturday today but I suppose it was at least worth the learning experience. I can Zaino a car now! My arms and shoulders are killing me but it's done. These pictures don't do it justice.

One side note: The Z5 Pro seems to add much more depth than Z2 Pro. The previous Zaino pics always looked like a mirror. My car almost looks like it has a layers of carnuaba on it... I'll write it all up in detail later... for now some pics.

Shweeet Kobemeister!!! Looks awesome.

Good to hear your assessment of the Z5Pro depth. I'm killing the last of my old Z5 and will order some of the Pro next week.

I don't envy those detailers. That is seriously back-breaking work. The zaino polishes aren't hard to buff off... they're actually harder to put on because its so thin its hard to tell what you're doing... and all that layering is what is really tiring.

I'm not zainoing anyone's else's car - sorry - but I will be happy to give pointers... plus don't wanna cramp on shims business

Where are you in Ashburn - I'm in Brambleton..

I hope all of the DC-area E90 drivers learn how to Zaino at the meet so that I can learn from one of them once my car gets here.

lol, how hard were you applying pressure when you were putting on the Zaino? It's sooo easy to apply it, buffing it off takes a bit more effort imo.

I'd be more than happy to take pointers Ya know - once it was dry - it was a cinch to buff off - literally a soft wipe. Maybe I was applying too much pressure because I was so paranoid about applying it thin that I was trying to squeeze every last drop from that stupid applicator. Zaino's applicators are nothing to write home about, I think I'm going to switch to MF. I'm writing up my experience and will post soon for all you Zaino virgins who are afraid to get in bed with the Z2/5 Pro

I have a SG car so I thought it would be easy to see where it was applied. I still had a hard time - maybe it was going on too thin?

It is, for me, very hard at times to tell where I left off so if you had a hard time also you did it right! Now enjoy the beading for a few months!!!

few more pics

I snuck my way into BMW of Sterling to take a few more night pics under flourescent lighting of the dealership. I'm not a great photographer but this is my attempt.

I have some other non-Zaino vs Zaino pics for comparison also which I'll post in a different thread.

Thanks - there are a ton of bugs there at night. I almost ate a few moths and gnats while snapping pictures.
