Ridin 20's
I'm about to deploy in a couple of months and save a substantial amount of money while I'm gone. I am going to pull the trigger on the BBS LM-Rs in either 19 or 20 inch when I return. I cannot decide which though. For guys that have 20's, will a pothole instantly ruin my rim every time? I'm not trying to drop $1500 a wheel to have it jacked up by the very first pothole I hit. SD highways are generally in great shape, but some of the city roads have the occasional pothole. I am planning on running either PSS 10s or some KW v2s. Will there be any rubbing issues with this setup? For the 20 inch BBS LM-R, they suggest a 285 width tire. I heard the E90s have much more room in the rear. I'm not real concerned with ride quality, just concerned about how they hold up to a pothole with 30 series on front and 25 series on back.

no.. make sure your tire pressure is right and you should be find. I've been running 20's for almost 3 years now with 2 different cars. Forged 3pc wheels with both sets.. no issues.

I’ve never had any problems with potholes but since Swiss roads are in a very good condition this might not be very meaningful.
Rubbing will depend on the offset of the wheels, what offset do you consider? For details about my setup check the link for the 1st photoshoot in my sig. I’d definitely recommend choosing the PSS10 coilovers. Even if you had to decide either KW3 or PSS10 I’d choose the PSS10, I’m just not a fan of KW.

A good multipiece 20" wheel can take a decent size pot hole. I have hit some big potholes with my 20s and pulled over expecting to find a bent rim and to my surprise they held up fine.
A 19 inch cast cheap wheel would have been bent. I have 19inch CSLs on my E90 and they bend easier than my 20s on my E92 |

Cool, thanks everyone. I'll just have to figure out the offsets to use for the LM-Rs in a 20 inch. I'm also wwandering if it will look like sh$t running 20s with no BBK. Maybe I can use that to justify to the wifey for new BBK.
