blow this - not what you think
E92 328i 2008
Last night someone cut me off so I laid into the horn for a few seconds. The stereo was on and I noticed that when holding the horn for more than a few seconds you'll actually notice that a secondary horn-type noise will come from INSIDE the car! Speakers perhaps? I know, it's very strange - but try it out. It's wild. It's as if you hear the external horn and then an internal horn a few seconds later. I could repeat it with ease. Even more incredible is if the stereo is off or the volume is all the way down. If this is the case and you hold the horn you will NOT hear the secondary horn-type noise from inside the car. If anyone could try this out and let me know what you hear I would really appreciate it. -A PS...This isn't a joke and it's not just me trying to cause you to make a whole lot of noise and have your neighbors hate you. You need to hold the horn down for at least 3 or 4 seconds to hear what I am talking about. Finally, I did search and found no threads on this....If I missed something, mea culpa. |

I'm not surprised to hear this. Supposedly, the blinker noise is electronic and from the stereo speakers, not a mechanical click like the old days. If this is true, it'd be nice if the car would automatically make the blinker silent (or very quiet) when you're on the BT phone.

Dude, Boston is the most horn happy city in the country. People will honk at you for any reason, probably because of the antiquated road system. Here in California, it's funny how honking at someone is grounds for throwing blows or getting shot. Yesterday, I totally cut off this Scion TC prick on purpose, and he didn't even honk, he just flashed his lights.

No joke. While reading this line, someone outside started honking. Longest one was about 10 seconds. Maybe someone testing out the double horn after reading the thread? What are the odds?

I was real mad at the driver ahead of me for going real slow so I laid on the horn of the 1989 Pontiac LE 6000 I owned at the time. Then the horn stuck. I felt like an idiot but managed to take it apart while driving. Then I passed the driver that was ahead of me. And her passenger. Both in their habits. I felt like a TOOL. |

God, when do i try this thing out?
Ive been thinking for the whole evening and cannot find a place appropriate enough to accomplish this venture. Never had to use my horn in the entire time i was in the BMW. |
