E90 335 Anthracite Headliner swap!!Completed!!
I've been researching doing this headliner swap for some time. I got a list of the parts i need, and posted them up for everyone with a E90 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226525 . I ordered everything through my local dealer here in Germany and got everything in 2 days. I am not going to get into a how-to or a DIY thread right now as I'll post it up soon. It only took me about 4 1/2 hours from start to finish with a friend helping. It really isnt that hard to do, just start by removing all the pillar covers, sunvisors, door handles, and headliner consolls then getting the headliner out. The biggest pain was the sunroof shade. Only tools i used were T15 and T20 torq bits, a small tip flat head screwdriver and i bought a interior panel kit from bavauto.com .
Alright a few final product pics of the swap, i got to get the rest from my friend that was helping me. As you can see i still have to paint the center headliner consoll control panels. So i got to see if i can find some panel black paint, something not to glossy but not to flat.

I forgot to take some before pics and trying to find any I took before.
Anyway, total cost was $790.00 in parts. It would cost about 300 to 400 dollars more in the states. Prices locally in Germany are much cheaper then the states, i dont think Tishers could match it. Plus no cost for shipping for me.

what is the interior kit you are talking about? Is it expensive? Can one buy it in europe locally or have to ship from USA?

This was my least favorite DIY by far. The sunshade drove my INSANE!
But it is very good looking indeed!

All the parts can be bought locally in Europe, shipping to the states would be expensive for the headliner it self. Or you can order it through Tischer BMW website i think. I wouldnt call it my least favorite and yeah the sunshade was a bitch, you just have to look at how it works to get it out. I think the anthracite headliner and pillars gives the interior a more luxury and sporty look.

Can't you buy the center headliner console control panels in black? I thought I'd seen them. Looks great BTW. Nice mod.

Yeah the center consoles could be bought in black, but they come off the easily and the actual peice thats grey can come off and be painted to match too just to save alittle money.

Don't use regular spray paint, get black vinyl/plastic dye. It's made by SEM I believe and will match the oem finish very well. I've seen it on e46 forums, I'll try to find a link to the stuff.

Ghost, looks fantastic. I would love to see this in person. I'm down in the Stuttgart area. Let me know if you wouldn't mind. I could hit you up the next time I'm in your area. Now, I wonder what this will cost for an E92....

Nice mod. Last time I checked (a couple months ago), the headliner alone was like over a grand

I really wish this had been a factory option. My E39 540i was an M-Tech model (looked like an M5), and had an anthracite headliner. Much nicer than the beige one in my E90.
