Any e90/92 M3 Owners Replace their Sway Bars?

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
There's a lot of talk about people over in the regular e90 forum changing their sway bars.
I have already changed my rear bar from the 13mm bar that came with the sport suspension to the 14mm bar that comes with the M euro package and I definitely noticed the difference.

There's plenty of talk about what works and what doesn't.
There's some that say that the 20mm bar makes the car feel much more balanced but there are others that are saying that when tracking the car, there will be less traction since I'm driving with a peg leg.

Is there anyone local that has changed the rear sway bar in their M3?
If so, I'd like to install it see if it works for myself.

Thanks guys!

Nobody's upgraded their sway bar?
I don't know if there are many options with stiffer sway bar options for the M3 but I just thought that somebody would have known someone that has done it.

It's just a lot of people wouldn't do it even if there was one available. Doing the sway bar on the M3 requires dropping the subframe, and that seems like no fun and a lot of money

Yah, I know what you mean but I did the installation on my 335 (which requires the same process) and just with going from the 13mm bar to the 14mm bar was noticeable.

I'm not doubting that. But until a proven company comes out with a good swaybar intended for track purposes and something that will go hand in hand with EDC as well, I don't think many of the M3's would change.

They need to make something that once installed would also be easily adjustable as a sway changes body roll and the handling characteristics of a car a lot.

I would do it right away if there is proven R&D time on an M3, with a car that has a lot of power and likes to oversteer and power on in turns , they have to get it just right for your average street driver as well.
The suspension is great as it is compared to E46, but I would love the improvements. I think anyday now

it doesnt require removing the subframe to do the install unless you think its required for the rear. It took me about 15 minutes to install a front H&R bar on one of our guys 335's

I just noticed this responce right now.
The front is easy as you said.
The rear requires dropping the rear subframe.
I'd love to see you try to do the rear in 15 minutes.
