buying a new macbook pro

I need a new puter. Wondering if I should go with a 15" or 17" Macbook. Any thoughts?

Go to the apple store and see if you can live with a 15. If not get the 17. Either way you wont regret it

I just ordered a 15" pro. Really wanted the 17" because of the 8 hour battery, but decided I didn't want one that large

I think I may go with the 15". Love the idea of the extended battery for the other one.

I have a 17" MBP and I have not found it cumbersome when I carry it to classes. It is only about an inch deeper and wider vs the 15". I probably won't be able to survive after having my 17" MBP with the 1920x1200 screen resolution.

I have the 15.4 and it definately beats lugging around the 17".. I can't even imagine carrying that around on my shoulder.. even if you have just the notebook and charger it gets pretty heavy.. 17" screen would be nice but I needed a more portable one so I went with the 15" and am completely satisfied with the size.. No regrets.

do you like messenger bags? I can recommend a great one I have the tumi flow messenger, it was close to $200 but its definitely worth it, great bag. They have a lot of new designs that are pretty nice too, the one I got is about 2 years old now.

He wants portability and if he buys that bag, he might as well have bought the 17" MBP( even though like I said I have had no problems with my 17" MBP) as that thing is bulky!

it looks bulky because its a true messenger bag with a sleeve for the notebook.. also because the sides are extended in the picture, they extend out to like 3" but you can just unzip/ zip it, I've never had to extend mine..

I have a 17" MBP and like its been said before it is a bit cumbersome to carry but then again i figured the bigger ... the better since size does ummmm matter Seriously though i'd probably go with the 15" since its much easier to carry .
