Service opinions please - brake fluid replacement
My car is US sourced and therefore not covered for service unless I drive to Buffalo - the preprogrammed scheduled service for 'brake fluid replacement due JAN09' is flashing on my dash at startup - 2007 335i with 29k kms. Parkview says $160 to do - but do you really need to replace brake fluid at 29k kms and 2 years old? Anybody else get this message? I thought brake fluid is pretty much good for 5+ yrs!

I had abour 55000 km when I had to replace my brake fluid back in November. Another 8000km now (at 59000 km) until my rear brakes need servicing... my car is about 2 years old when I had my brake fluids replaced.

Brake Fluid is every 2 years. My car is also a US bought car and it is definitely worth making the trip down to Buffalo. Towne BMW has such great customer service, better than the dealers I have been to here in Toronto. With gas prices at a reasonable cost, it might be be worth the drive. They changed my brake fluid and micro filter in an hour
