Question for my Sister in law..
The other day my Sis in law washed her brand new 4runner with a sponge, however, she thought if she used the scrub side (the harder part of the sponge) it would come out cleaner. But now she has little scratches all over her car. They arent deep but they are def there. The car is dark blue, so whenever it hits the sun you can see the scratches..anyway to get rid of it?

It's going to be very difficult to do the entire 4runner by hand, but you could try Meguairs ScratchX for spot removal (it's available at pep boys, autozone, etc..) for the entire car odds are you're going to need a machine like the Porter Cable 7427 + some pads + some polishes, or take it to a pro detailer. Luckily San Diego has no shortage of really good detailers.

If she did the whole car like that, the best thing would be to take it to a good detailer. Sombody with a PC and an abrasive polish can get it smooth. She could try asking at autopia.org to see if there is someone good in her area.

You will need a 3 part buffing process done by a good detailer. Issues like this can only be fixed with a wheel.

...no common sense
But depending on how deep the scratches are, if you cannot feel them with your fingernail then you can buff then out. But if you can feel it....good luck repainting the entire car

Bring it to a professional and they'll probably buff right out. When I have a garage the first thing I'm doing is getting a buffer, it's a very useful tool.

I'd almost promise you that they can be buffed out but it might be a job for a rotary machine and someone with experience. If you have a ROB you might be able to do it if they're not too deep but it will take a while.
I've buffed out wetsand hazing on my car (intentional wet sand effort) and a plastic/nylon scrubber type sponge probably isn't any worse than that was. Like afocoryw20 said, minimum 3 stage buff and polish. It's easy if done by someone who knows what they're doing and it will look better than before she washed it.
