autoX video at proposed new Nationals site in Lincoln
Here is some in car video of me in my 135i and a few other cars running this weekend at one of the proposed sites for Nationals next year in Lincoln. This was my worst run (of course), I dropped over a second and a half off this time...
http://www.1320video.com/videos.php I was running a completely stock setup including tires... |

Looks like a nice site! Loved the Miata driver's "GAHHHHH!", as he approaches that cone-to-be-squished.
One thing, you don't get much more "Central US" than there. |

The site is HUGE! We were only using a portion of what is available and it's already more then what is available at Topeka. Course possibilities would be nearly unlimitied.
That course was one of the 1997 National Championship courses from out at Forbes Field. Very fast and fun, I left a lot of time out on course, but this was really my first time driving a course of this size and speed. |

This is our very different site, which is also an airbase, but we're on the runways, but the airfield. Please pardon the wind noise.

I am so excited to get back to CONCRETE...hope the Lincoln site plays out for 2009!!
I won't even bother ranting about how much I hate the HPT asphalt and how the AWD cars have such an advantage on that surface, etc., etc..... |

Looks to be the same site as we (Nebraska Region SCCA) used to run in the 80s and early 90's before the University of Nebraska stole it for the testing of the safer barriers. I sort of got used to the autocrosses in excess of 100 MPH (even in my CRX). It was a really nice grippy concrete!
I have a picture of my wife driving the tractor pulling an airplane through the course to get to the hanger at one of the events. Looks like I need to start autocrossing again.
