Active Steering - Useful ??

Hey everyone, I'm Belgium and this is my first posting on this forum.
As the first owner of a 10 years old but still wonderful Z3coupe with 230.000 Km on the counter I thought time has come for a change, but since there is no more successor for the Z4 at this moment, I chose for the 135i. In IMHO a dignified solution as I prefer compact but powerfull cars, isn't it ?
I'm planning a full option one with of course manual gear. Only uncertainty so far, the so called BMW Active Steering.
What do you guys think of that option. As I drive a lot of time in urban situations, I thought this would be something interesting. What do you think of that choice.

Pol.

I didn't choose it myself because my car was getting too expensive. However, I know some people that have it and they say it is great. I would like to try it out one day. Unfortunately the testing center don't have a 1er with that option at the moment.

I was able to test active steering about 1 year ago with a 330i E90. I got the car for two days over the weekend. If you can afford active steering, which is really expensive IMO (speaking for Europe), you should choose it! You are getting very fast used to it and its really helpful, if you are often moving your car in narrow areas.

I tried a 120d back to back with a 135i, the 120 had the active steering and I thought it felt numb. In my opinion the standard steering on the 135 is pretty sharp.

Activ Steering

I had the opportunity to drive a 125i with the Activ Steering yesterday. And really, it felt great and comfortabel particular during manoeuvres at slow speed. And I think I will choose it.
