So I removed my armrest.....

I hate the damn thing, it just got in my way whether up or down and to me had worthless storage. So I took it out and replaced it with the BMW cover. There are two different covers, so I was told, one for I-Drive and one without. The part # is for the one without. Price was 6.80 Euro or about $9.50

Looks nice and clean but oddly naked. I don't think I could do without it. 1er is limited in storage as it is. We Americans always carry around too much Sht obviously...we always need more storage and 50 cup holders. i find the arm rest comfortable, useful, and a necessity for iPod use though. however, I've always been disappointed that it wasn't covered in leather, definitely cutting corners there. Doesn't have to match interior trim, but should still be black leather wrapped if the car is optioned w/ leather.

Unique change....i didn't even know it was an option.

Looks like a nice job. But I agree -- I couldn't do without an arm rest.

Hmmm, looks like crap without the armrest - IMHO.
But to each his own...

That's what makes the world go round, we all have different views, I'll be performing this mod to my car as I only use the armrest to be annoyed with incessant rattling and squeaking. Two hands on the wheel, for me. Thanks for the heads-up & pt.#, JT. BTW, prudent post delete...:wink:

Let's see, plastic floor mats, grease on the driver's seat and now no armrest. You're moving downscale fast here.

You shouldn't be so quick to judge. It was raining/muddy the day it picked up my car so the NOW factor played a big part in getting the mats. The seat was dirty, so I wiped it with some water, the water is what you see drying. The armrest is gone, because like I said, I don't like it. Good thing I didn't take a picture of the boxes my performance seats came in.

That looks great. I'm ordering this part tomorrow morning; I need that arm rest gone yesterday. For those of us with long arms - I'm a 35" sleeve - the armrest is superfluous.

Thanks for posting.

Looks good to me. I'll be keeping my arm rest because of the little extra storage it gives. And I got the BMW Assist/Bluetooth and iPod stuff.

The only gripe I really had about the arm rest was it blocked the second cup holder, but that's not a big deal since I can't really remember ever eating/drinking in my Integra.

If I ever was carrying food home (fast food; which I seldom eat), and it was for more than just myself, I practically always had a passenger who could hold onto the drink tray.

Your arm rest removal looks good, and I probably would've done it too if I hadn't done the iPod/Bluetooth deal. Having a cell phone stored in the armrest seems convenient.

I'm with Jiveturkey on this one, I can't stand that damn armrest and I don't even have my car here yet, as I'm still waiting on Euro Delivery to get home.

Ergonomically, this is the one thing I really hate about BMW's. Every one I have ever driven is like this. The damn arm rest hits my elbow constantly when I'm shifting gears. It's in the way whether it's up or down, and it's the only piece of the car that feels low rent, as it gives so much I was constantly checking to make sure there wasn't something stuck under it causing the floppiness. Mine's getting an armrestectemy shortly after it arrives in country, and good riddance.

Thanks for the info Jive!

This is an awesome mod! Why would anyone spend $2,000 for a Dinan engine tune when for less than 10 bucks you can eliminate all this performance robbing weight? I bet the car handles significantly better as well...another $1,500 saved! :P

Thank you JiveTurkey for posting this mod!

I find the armrest to be of nuisance when rowing through the gears. This mod should solve that problem.

wow thats wierd, i absolutely couldnt do without my armrest lol, i actually HATE having it up more then anything. The only thing i hate about an armrest is theres no taser to zap the passenger off of it when they try to rob your spot

One the most comfortible positions for me in the car is my left hand at the 2 oclock and my right hand resting on the selector and my elbow on the notch ontop of the armrest (not the safest I know)

Different strokes I guess tho.

Ohh and I put my sunglasses in the thing, so its useful
