Removing Gum from Mats

Any ideas guys? Friend got gum on his shoe and now its stuck to my mat. Any help would greatly be appreciated

If you have a chest freezer, place the mat in there - the gum will freeze, then you can just knock it off with a table knife. If you don't want to upset the mrs., put in in a plastic bag first. If you don't have a freezer, place a freezer pack below and above the gum - same idea.

Alternately, I don't know where I got it, but I have a "Quick Freeze - Gum Remover" spray can. I'm sure it's sold a few places.

Freezing does work great though.

Good idea, it is probably the same diflouroethane as you get in a can of air duster and will instantly cool anything. Choose any method you can think of to get the gum to harden up, then it will come right off. Anything else simply smears it into the host.

Next time make your friend take off his shoes....

Place an ice cube(s) directly on the gum you'll be able to "pick" it off the mat with your finger nail as it hardens...
